Club Avatar Night

Rachel and I decided to swing by at Singapore's new club, Club Avatar, which is Singapore's first Asian Fusion Dance Club. We were in for a nice surprise. Free drinks for ladies on Friday night! Since it just recently opened, we figured that this deal is to attract clubbers to the club, and probably wouldn't last long. But it's an awesome deal for us! There is a wide selection of free drinks for the ladies to choose from, from housepours to martini to champagne!

We'd thought that it would be a fancy place catered to foreigners since it's situated in Marina Mandarin, like New Asia in Swissotel, but the club was surprisingly filled with many locals. There were some skimpily clad dancers on platforms, which was kind of disturbing, but the club played the latest hits which set the crowd cheering as they danced to the beat. Firework by Katy Perry!! I was totally singing along at the top of my lungs even as I danced.

First time trying apple martini. Love it!
Kiasu SG people like us get more drinks before finishing our first.

Tea Cosy ~ Ten Thousand Angels

Tea Cosy is a dining and retail store in level 5 of Plaza Singapura which has a romantic English ambience with its delicately carved angels sprawled all across the shop and soft music serenading one’s ears in the background. If any serene angel happens to catch your eyes whilst you are dining you can actually purchase them. I was so tempted to buy some for they are so dainty and elegant. So far, I have only gone there for dessert, and I would like to try its main courses one day since my sister gave a thumbs-up for it.

The 5 piece miniature cake taster plate was served in exquisite white plates placed on a silver 2-tiered server, which evokes a touch of class and elegance. But while the miniature cakes weren’t bad, they weren’t particularly memorable. Yet they do provide a good variety if you are spoilt for choice.

Their buttered scones are simply the best. The scones were crusty and fragrant, and they all but melted in my mouth. The buttery taste of the scones was good and rich. <3 the scones so much!

For drinks I ordered Peppermint Cool, which was some peppermint milky drink with marshmallows in it and sugar frosting all around the glass rim. Sounds and looks good, but tasted kind of weird. Perhaps it was too minty and not sweet enough.

My sis and cousin!

I think it’s a perfect place for couples or girls' night out, especially since people often mistake it as a shop selling angel figurines and quirky furniture, which made the shop less well known than it deserves to be. But the fact that there is no crowd in Tea Cosy makes it even more alluring to me, as the relative quiet adds to the tranquility in the quaint little cafĂ©.

Sterling Grey Contacts!

Taken with Samsung Jet (5 megapixel) - My sterling grey eyes! =)

This is a Freshlook Colourblend contacts I bought a while back. It's sterling grey, but somehow under certain lightings (and cameras), it looks blue. I'd thought that I'll look simply weird with blue eyes, but I think it's really pretty!!! Wish it's my natural colour! I love trying out different colours for my eyes, so far I've tried green, hazel, amethyst, blue, and gray. I used to like green the most, because it's a warm colour that makes me look friendlier (apparently people think I look like an ice queen). I had high hopes for amethyst since purple's my fave colour, but the purple isn't obvious at all, sadly. Now I simply love sterling grey! Sterling grey is a special series whereby the colour is more vivid than the usual grey, so it makes my eyes really stand out. I miss it already! But I feel having grey eyes kinda makes my make up style less versatile, nothing but the smokey-eyed look seems to suit. I would really like to try out the rest of the vivid series if I can. I'm back to my normal boring contacts, sigh.

Taken with Nikon Coolpix 12 megapixel - My eyes turned blue! XD But too bad it's blurred cos of my shakey hands. =(
